The player base for this game has only subtracted recently, I ask why, and I am here to present you an argument.

This game does not need as many features that are solely for premium members. Lets begin by saying this, what an utter waste of money it is to spend money on this game, no one is putting any effort in to grow the player base or make it more user friendly. There's no tutorial, these isn't a way of learning the game bar failure, and even once you pick it up the maps are full of glitches that give players who religiously study this game an advantage with movement around the map.

The core issue here is what features are only for premium members. Why are they the only ones allowed to make games with the created maps? Why are they the only ones allowed to change the amount of allies in a game? Why do they get both a general and strategy that destroys everyone who isn't paying?

This game is a classic, pay 2 win game that isn't on a a phone. This is a browser game, it should be browser friendly and should have a far bigger community. Instead we are stuck with the same toxic player base.

This game has a lot of potential, but in it's current form it is a complete waste of time. How can you justify spending money on a game that doesn't care about any of its users because it refuses to change so it can justify the money spent by the same users who are killing the game.

What solutions do I have? Take away all premium advantages and allow the player base to enjoy the complete package of the game. Furthermore, get rid of all the bugs and glitches, all the movement hacks. Create a tutorial. And take the premium members we have now and put them on a shelf to gather dust, in other words, if they don't like losing their privileges we have to lose them and that's their choice.

How long does the average new player try the game for? I can tell you how it ends, they will either get tired of losing to premium members (this does not encourage purchase) or they get tired of 10 man games that become 3v3 or they get tired of waiting for someone to create the game they want to play and it taking a hour to fill because there are no users online.

Everyone who read this, please for the good of this game delete your account.

I know exactly why this game is failing. When you reach rank 6 and have become decently skilled, you can mostly beat everyone in the beginner's room with the exception of a few other rank 6 guys there and alts (unfortunately). The next logical step is to go to main room where you will face more challenging opponents ranking from 3-16. Problem is, as a rank 6 I get kicked out of 90% of games (not even good ones) and sometimes get banned from a few guys for trivial reasons (a lot of autistic hosts with strange rules cause this). On top of this, it gets very boring waiting in lobbies for an hour just for a scenario map to fill (scenario is basically the only thing that is played anymore and is available to my rank level). Because of these flaws, I can see why players are leaving, especially the ones in my rank area.

You know, this community is just going to keep finding reasons to bash this browser game until the end of time (or whenever Amok & Ivan decide to shut the servers off) around this time every year until something is done; What you all need to realize-- and this is what I said last year-- that Amok & Ivan originally had an idea for a basic game, and that's what they chased after. The monetization was phase two, and it never panned out properly, so now phase three is to simply ride the premium bucks until the spigot turns itself off. A hell of a lot of games unfortunately end up like this, and you can't exactly blame the games for taking this route. They have families to take care of, and game development isn't exactly their forte.

Now what I suggested as well last year was that the community comes together, coughs up a few programmers, and begins development of a spiritual successor that eliminates the necessity of Premium entirely and focuses on a one-time price on Steam rather than this weird draconian browser bullshit. i'm sure even our Serbian and Turkish players who make up the grand majority of this community would be willing to drop ten Euro on Steam for a higher quality experience than this. There is no other game out there that mixes competitive multiplayer and grand strategy; if this game dies, which it eventually will, you'll be stuck playing Crusader Kings or Europa IV for an eternity. Either this, or someone needs to win the lottery and donate the entire payout to protobytes as an investment to get the development back in-check here, but I digress; Even if that were the case, I doubt Amok & ivan have a vested interest in this community any longer.

I feel you brah, lots of of flaky low ranks, but for the few of us good one's here there is really no competitive scene on here to really improve.

That's what you get for joining a shit clan, if you think you are decent - join a clan that is respected or well known so they can talk to a host in your behalf to give you a chance.

That's what I do with my low rank clan mates; I talk to the host in their behalf and they are allowed to play

I agree with your 1st paragraprh a 100% and i explained it many times with my previous acc (3nic), altho i must say i understand the current tiredness of many players, cause simply a few minor changes could be done, which don't necessaraly implicate a lot of programmation etc... simply in order to give to the game a little fresh air, that's not much to ask (the strats, the option to play with the buildings, new colours, a few new maps on the classical etc...).

That would be a great achievment to tired players (addicts) like there is on this game and make them quit. AW 0 - 1 Social life
