Strategy Selection: Imperialist: Main Strategy for East Germany and for most other countries. This strategy will give decent income throughout the game and you definitely can get full reinforcement every week. Blitzkrieg:Another viable strategy, but highly discouraged as it results in speed for poor defense and unsustainable income. Only use this strategy if you truly believe you can kill off North Ussr quickly before he gets too strong. Overview and Grand Strategy: For those familiar with WW2, Germany's plan is to go on the offensive unexpectedly and knock out the Soviets. As East Germany, you have to main long term objectives in the game; Leningrad and Moscow. Leningrad is heavily fortified with redoubts, forts, and often anti-tank guns/entrenched infantry. Leningrad isn't easily taken if North USSR knows what he is doing and requires at least 100 divisions consisting of medium tanks, assault guns, infantry, etc. Moscow, on the other hand, is the capital of North USSR and his main stack will be there to defend it to the last man. East USSR's stack will sometimes be there to assist North if he isn't doing so hot. You will fight your way to these cities by wfing layers and layers of North USSR's walls with planes provided to you with events, and taking provinces along the way with your army. Units and finances Ostfront has a variety of units for both sides. New units will also appear for production throughout the game. There are also events throughout. On t1 you get two gen stack, one non-gen stack, and two stacks of planes. T12 is the Stalingrad event with 20 planes and 55 units of a variety of troops appearing in Galacia. Trains also appear near Berlin occasionally. Trains have a high amount of damage/defense, but only 1 hp, so they will be targeted and instantly killed if they are in a stack. Trains are used to transport troops and can also be used to kill forts and redoubts. Below is a description of the important units in the game: Early game/Early Middle Game Infantry/Motorized Infantry: Bulk of your army and should make up 80% of your stacks. You should make regular infantry as motorized costs too much, but has the same defense/attack as regular infantry. You can make motorize you're in a pinch and need defense somewhere fast. Assault Guns: Should be around 10% to 15% of your stack depending on what your opponents make. Assault Guns have bonus defense against enemy tanks, so they act as mobile and cheap flak guns. Moreover, they are a good attack against forts and redoubts, such as when you are attacking Leningrad. Medium Tanks: A powerful attacking unit, but at a cost. They should be around 5% to 15% of your stack. Around 30 of these beasts can destroy about 120 conscripts/winter infantry depending on if you have stack bonus. These units shouldn't be spammed as they will drain your income. Light Tanks: A good unit to break walls with, but generally shouldn't be produced. Light tanks are much weaker than Mediums. They come in events and can be used to tank minor cities throughout the game, but shouldn't be used in mass assaults. Howitzers: Similar description to Light tanks. Shouldn't be produced, comes in events, used to break walls, and to take minor cities. [Fighters: Late Middle Game/Late game:
