It seems that whenever I find them as a rare unit, they die without killing almost anything. I was told you have to use them a specific way or they won't work. What is this "proper way" of using nukes?

It is a server problem. And admins are getting it fixed.

This thread has nothing to do with nukes, actually...

Attack with something more than just nukes. Have around 10 infantry so they take the bulk of the attack and your missiles don't.

That's the problem - in our system there's no minimal damage. All damage has a range of 1 to max. damage. Nukes and missiles have only one chance to attack, they're destroyed immediately after that. Sometimes, they don't deal a whole lot of damage, but the potential to do 60-120 damage is there.

So yeah, all units do 1-max damage, then arb is added on top if it applies.

so it's pure luck if you do or do not get a good hit with nukes, like with an afterwind, it's a random roll from 1-120.

this also explains why some battles just don't go your way aswell.
