I have a question about the global chat rules.

So I spoke Portuguese in the global chat to some fellow Portuguese/Brazilian friends and I got muted for 15 minutes.I don't get this stupid non-sense bullshit of speaking English only in the global chat since I'm not talking to the English speakers and but the Portuguese speakers so wouldn't I be allowed to speak Portuguese?

Even this morning I saw a German asking something to his German friend and someone told him "English Only".Why english only?

The rules are English only. Mods don't set the rules, just enforce them. If Ivan or Amok wants to address in this thread, fine. Anyone else please don't post your spam.

If you want to speak Portuguese its fine, just use private message channel, not the room/global.

My guess is that if people are speaking other languages, it becomes nearly impossible to ensure that people are using offensive language, but again, this is Amok and Ivan's policy, not ours. We just enforce the rules they set.

Its easier to build a community if we speak the same language?

Its easier just to post in the same languange because if people dont know that language they may think that you are talking badly about them or their friends and they dont like it

Uou speak only English in room, game, forums and global because it's the rules, the reason is because English is the most widely spoken language in Europe and America, which is the games target area. Another reason is because misinterpretation in the main reason for dispute, a common example would be the american Indians, Americans misunderstood their culture, and believed the to be barbaric savages, which of course we all know now is not that case.

For the record, if someone speaks to me in a foreign, i don't assume they are issulting me, they are actually more likely to insult me in English, because they want me to understand it. lol
