At least this is the current idea proposed, and is yet to receive a larger number of supporters or those against its implementation.

In kongregate, you can rate a comment. When the comment have at least -3 or less rating, it auto-hide itself (you can still click in "show" to see it though).
Here we could implement downvote and make it so when a comment reach - 15 or less rating (upvotes - downvotes) it is automatically deleted. In this way we could mod ourselves in forums, without the need of a mod.

You ofc had the right to talk to mods but that might've been better served on aw instead of on SM's own IRC. Thank you for contributing something of real substance to the thread, I think this is a great idea. Reddit actually uses a similar function where heavily down voted comments are hidden but you can click to see them. I'd even be fine with mods tagging off topic comments to clean up threads and we can choose if we want to view them.
