For those who joined later than it's removal, flower power was a system of defense which was used a while ago, mainly to defend transports while going across large bodies of water. What a player would do is put 5 stacks of bombers around an inner stack in order to defend it and an opposing player would need to break one of the stacks before being able to get to the inner stack. This was eventually removed so that a player could fly right over a stack as long as it wasn't in a city. It's removal has no benefitted AtWar at all, and I think it has actually made gameplay worse. First of all, it makes transportation across oceans longer and more expensive. Destroyers cost a lot more than planes, so making a wall with stacks of them rather than stacks of bombers is more expensive. on top if this, it makes crossing bodies of water slower. Because the bomber stacks, for defensive purposes, would have to fly at the same pace as the destroyers, it takes a longer time to cross an ocean which leads me to my second point. Secondly, it supresses competition. Because it takes a slower amount of time to cross an ocean, many people will not bother and will just ally end out of laziness. This could have turned into a big war that would have been very fun and interesting to watch. Getting reinforcements across oceans already takes a long time, but it takes longer to have to defend it. Even if people weren't too lazy to go across the oceans, it takes too long for reinforcement to arrive in order to make it a decent battle. Lastly, it is realistic. Airforce One has planes flying all around it to prevent any sort of plane shooting it down. There are few times in a game where strategy, balance and realism can be all implemented without one taking priority. In flower power, all three have their place. Thank you for reading and please support.

This flower power was originally removed because it was basically a way to transport large amounts of units without ever having the possibility of your stack being turnblocked. it's not such an issue if this is reimplemented now because turnblocking doesn't play such a massive part in the game, but it will mean for example, if you see a large force coming towards your land over sea, you will hae to wait and defend before you launch your attack or have a larger protectie force, because you know he will always successfully reach your land, which could actually end up slowing combat further.

It has been removed because there was (and most likely still is) a bug with flowering that allowed the construction of indestructable walls. There was no other way to fix it so the result was to get rid of flowering.

Flower Power was insanely Overpowered. You could hold entire regions for weeks and weeks with enough cheapy bombers and other units.

I remember some people just putting layers and layers of infantry around their capitals when they were losing, and when they would leave you couldn't pass through the neutral units without killing them.
