Last time i made topic about Westeros=Balkanos, some kind of microcosm. This time about whole Europe: Reach: France Dorne: Spain Iron Islands: British Isles Stormlands: Poland(?) Crownlands: Italy Westerlands: Germany Riverlands: Ukraine Vale: Romania(?) North: Russia Beyond: Siberia Some kingdoms are pure copy of european nations, but some hard to compare, like Stormlands, the only unique feature is frequent storms, and in europe that's UK i guess, but they are island, stormlands are not. Vale is mountainous, and Romania have some mountain ranges, but they have/had no knights, like Poland for example (hussars), yet Poland is flat mostly. Make your list, let's compare.

Stormlands are litterly based on Italy. Riverlands are Germany (at least the western part). But not every kingdom is based on actual nation. the connection between them are feeble. though 4nic showed some solid abilities to find parallels.

Poland doesn't have large rivers like Ukraine or Riverlands, and it it's not on good terms with Russia(Stark-Tully relation) so i thought pre-coup Ukraine(Stark-Frey later) is Riverlands, it has huge river spliting it and Kiev is like Twin Towers. Kazakhstan is mostly desert and hot climate, typical muslim country, while beyond the wall is always winter.

We know that the riverlands were always a place disputed by the other kingdoms of westeros,it has been under control of the stormlands under king harren of the iron islands, aegons conquest, and it had a few rebbelions but cant remember how they were called So thats where i got the idea that it could be poland,we all know poland getting conquered by its east and west neighbors for a long time, and its kinda in the middle of europe, just like Riverland is in westeros.. My idea of far east of europe being beyond the wall was that the ural mountains are the wall. Mongolic peoples are the white walkers

Ah, Poland between Germany and Russia, always conquered, now i understand. Now when i'm thinking, North is allied to Riverlands AND Vale, plus it is hard to pass through the Neck(Moat Cailin) and those swamps. Makes North pretty formidable.
