I was wondering what you guys might feel about a political forum game revolving around the last Shah of Iran. I think it might be more along the lines of the Rome game with players assuming roles in a variety of groups. One player would be the Shah (or perhaps this will be omnipotent non playable character) while everyone else will be apart of the wider community. Some will be in the military (officer corps) others in intelligence (SAVAK) and they would be loyal toward keeping the Shah in power (with some defections occurring during revolution). There would be players who would be apart of liberal groups or other political movements (think National Front or mujahedin). There would ear religious radicals (khomeini) but perhaps also moderates (Shariatmadari). Your job is just to try and get your political party/movement into power (for military it would be to keep the Shah in power but I guess you can defect as well). There would be random events that occur (idk, like oil prices tumble, etc.) as well as events you can purchase (you spend x amount to create chaos which is then reported as an attack, etc.) Currently this is just an idea I've had and was debating whether to put effort into it (would probably want to start it end of december beginning of January). I'm not sure how viable this is but I'd love to get your guys opinions/suggestions on it ***If anyone would like to collaborate I'd be very receptive to it****

I just read an awesome book called "The Fall of Heaven" by Andrew Cooper. Offered a detailed history of the last Shah providing mainly the perspective of the Shah and his family (specifically the queen). Very interesting book as I never looked at the Shah from a positive perspective before but this book changed my views
