First of all majid al aqsa isn't located in gaza, it's located in Jerusalem, and was built on the area where the second Jewish holy temple stood which was built during king Solomon's rule. The Arab states assumed they will win thus told the Arabs who lived in Israel to evacuate, so they can freely kill the Jews and then return after the war is over. They failed, and those Arabs weren't allowed return into and were also not allowed to integrate into their new countries. Instead they were stacked in camps and were promised they will get back to their homes after Israel is destroyed, which haven't happened.
Little after the war more than 1 and half million Jews were uprooted and expelled from their homes, places they lived for centuries upon centuries in the Arab countries in the 1950s, because Israel won the independence war. All the items and money of those Jews were confiscated by the Arab countries. Israel didn't stack them in camps, Israel welcomed all those uprooted Jewish people unlike what the Arab states did with the former Arabs of Israel (Palestinians).
