i kinda do and kinda don't agree with this, Terrain would add for some more planing but also cause the map to look bad if poorly done

The biggest weaknesses of the map are, as I see it:

- 20 Players takes too long to fill and hampers the host's ability to be selective about who gets to play. Why be selective about players? Because many (the vast majority) players quit, break rules, troll or just do not participate in the RP aspect. Declaring war every 10 turns is not role playing in any meaningful sense. Make NWE Europe with 8-12 players.

- Less units (amount of them, not the great variety of different units), less cities, less income, less time. I get the appeal of controlling a big empire with a corresponding large army, but it completely hampers the actual gameplay. 7min is too long as it takes 70min (1hr 10min) per 10 turns (2 reinforcements). There is almost no economy management so with a large empire in battle you are just spamming if not the best unit, one of the best units available to you. Almost always the initially greater country wins the war. This indicates that there is little actual strategic or mechanical skill in the game.

- It is too unbalanced, US in particular is way too powerful. You could argue it mirrors the real world, but it makes the game less interesting and playable. If US declares war on anyone besides Russia, why would you actually continue to play? US vs anyone is super easy because of the massive economic and military superiority. The balance is not just a problem between countries, but units too.

- Remove terror, adds little to the game.

- Do continue to have a large variety of interesting, realistic unique (to city/country) units. However, it's a double edged sword for the map creators, as these units have to be balanced both on a micro and macro level.

In essence, the strengths of the map are that it is a great concept, executed fairly well and the map/units are detailed and comprehensive. If it was just balanced and made more appealing to those that like good wars (defined as requiring skill, not spam and wall hell) it would be a lot more popular I think. I don't support the excessive hate the NWE gets, but they have many valid points. A good litmus test for a RP map is if it is played without RP as well.

Excellent feedback first of all. Secondly I have tried to lower the unit spam and city spam and to "make it fair" for other players by nerfing the US unit spam.

Additionally, the core concept of roleplay should be incorporated a lot more than just declaring war on someone turn 4 as diplomacy should be used quite often and war should be a last resort. Of course this is why the US is quite powerful as a advocate of justice they should be responsible for resolving disputes. Terror has been removed per the request of the community and specialised cities will be introduced.

That's all I can say for now though.

I believe that if a few cities went missing it wouldn't be a huge deal, since, this is a game and not rl. However, I think that if there is less of everything then players will have more opportunities to role-play instead of waiting for turn 4 to declare war on each other.

Although I can add as many edits as I possibly can, it's up to the RP community to ensure games are balanced, and to ensure that someone doesn't play USA and declare war on everyone turn 4.
