Hello fellow atwarians and welcome
Tourney is based on school yard team sports, participants apply, we get them in, we select players that will be team captains and they pick players like in school yard. When participants apply and team captains are published the player have the right to reject one (1) player (captian) they don't want to play with before picking, this is to assure that teams are roughly equal.
System will be either double-elimination or everyone plays everyone (round robin) depending on number of players.
Teams will have 3 players, so 3v3 or 2v2 if third player isn't present
Settings:
Teams: 2
Game Type: Europe+
Turn duration: 4 mins (changeable if teams agree
Starting funds: 10k (changeable to 5k or 3k if teams agree)
Maximum players: 6
Joining until week: 0*
Victory: Capture player capital and hold for at least 2 turns*
Game duration: 50 turns
Rares: None
Initial countries: 1*
Extra cities: ✔
Allow rejoining: Off
Disable upgrades: Off
Disable strategies: Off
Rules:
There can't be UK-Ger or Turk-Pol orTurk-Ukr on the same team,
Buildings are not allowed
Completed games must be accompanied with a screenshot or confirmation from both players.
Rematches are at the player(s) discretion, if a rematch is agreed upon the results of the original game whatever they were are void.
If you can't play your game within the deadline please let me know otherwise you might get disqualified without further warnings.
As always, unfair play is prohibited, so no Serbian walling, Wall glitching, rewalling etc...

Order of picking of first round is reverse of ranking and order of second round is reverse of 1st round, ie. Pavle picks first in 1st round and last in 2nd round, Same picks 5th both times...
If anyone from the pool has issue with being picked by one (1) team leader he should PM me before 12:15 Tuesday CET.
Team leaders should think of their picks and we should do it ASAP. Also team names should be determined.
Every team will play every team (Berger, round robin, italian circuit, however you call it) twice, as in soccer, win will bring 3 points, tie 1, defeat 0, no show -2 and 3 points to the other team. In case one team can't bring third player they can request 2n2 in that case they will be penalized so for win they will get 2 points for tie 0 and for loss -2 points, team that has 3 players will get same number of points as before 3 for win, 1 for tie 0 for loss. If both teams agree on 2n2 they they will get 2 points for win, for tie 0 and for loss -2 points.
There will be a week period to play 2 games (versus the same team) so in 9 weeks time this should be finished, hopefully even faster.
UPDATE 2.0: Froyer is out, pavle is new captain, DJ003 is in
Update 3.0: Bracket is out, all games MUST be open for public, all results must be accompanied by screenshot, since no one sent me name for teams I used captains. Tourney starts in Friday (25.06.2021), you have a week to play your opponent (2 games), round 2 starts (02.07.2021) and so on...

But question is, if you used that critera to choose 10 team captains, why are then within them those with least number of won cws being awarded with first picks? Makes no sense to me. In practise, at least half of these guys are probably in front of me by skill, why making it opposite. Follow your criteria and award those in way from the top to the bottom.

You do know that teams that finished last season are awarded first pick in drafts ? Idea is equally matched teams, as close as possible. You do get last pick first round, but you also get first pick 2nd round.

Whats cool about his tourn, is teams will generally be more balanced than in CW's unless a captain throws a pick... like swans

What if for instance, I was Pavle, and wanted to 2v2 because my 3rd pick was the last player and he might not be the best. But I got the first pick so a 2v2 would benefit me the most. Basically, anyone who doesn't like their 3rd pick can discard them and tell them to go offline when a tourney game is about to start. This screws the people at the far end of the 1st pick ladder like Mecoy and Croat. I propose a mandatory 3v3

Good point, I was talking about this to panda yday. New amendment, to encourage 3v3, and yet not to block 2v2, team that can't/won't bring third will be penalized with 2 points for win 0 for tie and -2 for loss (instead of usual 3 points for win 1 for tie and 0 for loss), if both teams agree to 2n2, the rule applies to both of them.

Hmm how about we make it apply only for the team that has 2 players? Because if they force my team to 2v2 while I have 3 players, and then they manage to play some teams with 3 players, they're lowering my chances of winning in comparison to the rest of the teams since whatever happens I will end up with less than others. You see what I mean?

I said exactly that, maybe my english is broken, I apologize for that. Team that has 3 players READY TO PLAY will get 3 1 0. Team that has only 2 players will get 2 0 -2. If your and mine team need to play, and idk I end up in hospital and your internet breaks idk so neither of us can play 2v2 in any case then both team get graded on 2 0 -2 scale. This is to prevent teams from saying "Oh we have three, when their third hasn't been online 3 days"

As exemple Niels didnt join for the last 4 days , is there any chance to replace him in this case if he does not join till the tournament starts ? Or what to do in such cases , wouldnt be fair to get only 2 points . Let space to the team leaders to pick a 4th as reserve

The only way i can see this tournament being finished is by making casual games for each round, it's impossible to get people from different teams together
